USD 272 Awarded Six Challenge Awards

Dear Parents and Patrons:

I am proud to announce that our district has just received three separate challenge awards from "The Confidence in Kansas Public Education Task  Force."  The awards recognize schools for outstanding achievement and uncommon accomplishment based on Kansas Assessment results from 2009 and other qualifying factors, specifically the sample size, ethnicity, and the socio-economic status of those taking the test.  The Waconda school district received the Challenge Awards in the following areas:  5th Grade Math, 5th Grade Reading, 6th Grade Math, 6th Grade Reading, 7th Grade Math, and 7th Grade Reading.  

We should all be extremely proud of our students and staff at Waconda.  They work very hard and very diligently.  They are truly making a difference with learning.
